Grant was a British painter and designer of textiles, pottery, theatre sets and costumes and was a key member of the Bloomsbury Group. He was one of the leading British artists of the 20th Century. He exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1926, 1932 and 1940 and has been the subject of two retrospectives at the Tate.
