Rae is a Scottish artist and printmaker who has derived much of the inspiration for her work from the landscape of Scotland. She studied at Edinburgh College of Art, later going on to teach in various colleges in Scotland, most notably at the Glasgow School of Art. Her brightly coloured works evoke dramatic landscapes despite being resolutely abstract.
