Carolyn Sergeant (1937-2018)

Carolyn Sergeant studied at Wimbledon School of Art from 1955–59 and at the Royal Academy Schools from 1959–62 where she won a Silver Medal. She was the wife of fellow artist John Sergeant. She has had various solo exhibitions in London, most recently in 2003 when she had a solo exhibition at the Fine Art Society in London.

The picture was part of the collection and renowned garden at The Laskett in Herefordshire formed by Sir Roy Strong and his late wife the set designer Julia Trevelyan-Oman. Carolyn Sergeant and her husband and fellow artist John Sergeant were friends and neighbours of the Strong’s.
